What is a Modern Workplace?
The traditional 9-5 office or workplace has already changed, it was beginning to change before 2020, but the global lockdowns and restrictions on travel have change the way we see work. Flexible working time and working from home is now commonplace.
At the same time, the business has seen a reduction in office space, and hot desking means that real savings can be made with less space required for the same number of staff.
Working from home or a local business hub has seen the work life balance of many change, and the daily commute to sit in an office has been reduced or eradicated. The expectation to stay in touch and be productive means a pen and paper struggles to be a useful tool, and the humble e-mail seems woefully out of date when it comes to streamlining communications.
Microsoft 365 and your tech team, provide all the tools you need to manage and maintain a flexible workforce, but how do you really get a good return on your investment and know which tools you should use and for what? For some, email is the standard way to keep in touch, and getting hundreds of emails a day is a 'badge of honour' even though it is an extremely inefficient way to keep in touch.

As an ethical Modern Workplace transformation consultant, organisations and individuals have learned with my guidance to ditch the pen and paper and reduce or stop printing completely, and to be more productive with a distributed workforce and with a high number of freelance or contract staff.
You will see the optimum approach to get your workforce using the Microsoft Modern Workplace as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will then work together to train influencers and 'workplace ambassadors' who can become proficient in a product and/or the local go-to person to help speed up the new way of working across the organisation.
The uptake of the new working practices is not a technical problem to be cracked by just adding more techie or training support, it’s about changing the way the whole business communicates. These changes start at the very top and filter down via senior managers and staff and should include those who are out in the workplace and may only ever communicate on a mobile device.
